Greetings and welcome to our forums. Please post in this area with an introduction about yourself so we can differentiate you from the spammers who create dozens of accounts daily (which is why it's a private forum so you don't see the spammers).
As well, to help you out, here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers that you may find useful.
Q - What is Mighty Miniatures?
A - Mighty Miniatures is a company, owned by Thor Rechlo, that makes and sells terrain to enhance tabletop gaming.
Q - What kind of games/products do you keep in stock for sale?
A - Most of the products for sale are terrain-related, the products of Mighty Miniatures itself. Mighty Miniatures does not sell any games.
Q - Does Mighty Miniatures have a website?
A - You may visit the website at Mighty Minatures.
Q - What is The Showroom?
A - The Showroom is a warehouse full of gaming tables and custom made terrain, sponsored by Mighty Miniatures, where clubs and their members can meet regularly.
Q - Do I have to be part of a club to come play at The Showroom?
A - You do not have to be part of a club to come down and play, The Showroom has an Event Calendar in which anyone is welcome to come down on event days. (Usually Saturdays)
Q - Is it a store? Is it a warehouse?
A - The location itself is a warehouse. Within the warehouse is a store which produces table top scenery. During the week Mighty Miniatures uses the space to create their custom brick sets, building templates and gaming tables.
Q - What is the connection between The Showroom and Mighty Miniatures?
A - Mighty Miniatures is in the business of making terrain for miniatures gaming. The Showroom uses the terrain made by Mighty Miniatures and provides a place to play games.
Q - How many tables are there to play on?
A - There are six 4x8 (or twelve 4x4) tables on one side of the warehouse and a few more on the other side which is usually where events are run and table formations changed often.
Q - Are there games there or do people have to bring their own?
A - We mostly deal with table-top miniature strategy games such as Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000. However, if it's a game, you can play it here. As it stands, there are only a couple player owned board games there, but feel free to bring your own.
Q - Is there a cost to play at The Showroom?
A - Yes there is a $2.50 (tax included) entry fee that covers your gaming for the entire evening.
Q - What does the entry fee go towards?
A - The Showroom rents a portion of the warehouse from Mighty Miniatures and thus the entry fee pays to rent the space which then is put towards the heat (well it is a warehouse and it DOES get cold without heaters), hydro (so we don't game in the dark) and toiletries (such as toilet paper, soap and paper towels).
Q - Are there photographs of the place?
A - Yes there are, you can access them off the Mighty Miniatures main website by clicking on the Gallery button at the top of the page.
Q - What's the best way to get there by transit?
A - Mighty Miniatures is located just a minute from Royal Oak Skytrain Station. So as long as you can get to Skytrain, you can get to the warehouse.
Q - What kind of snacks are available?
A - The Showroom has a variety of snacks to purchase at reasonable prices that include beverages, hotdogs, popcorn and a couple dozen different types of confection items.
Q - If I can't eat snacks provided, what locations are nearby?
A - There is a Little Caesar's a few blocks over within walking distance. Via Transit you can stop one station over at Metrotown or if you have a vehicle you can find an Arby's, Wendy's, Panago, Pizza Hut, Church's Chicken, Subway and Tim Horton's in the opposite direction. No outside food or drink is allowed inside The Showroom. _________________ Death Korps of Krieg
